The tool will be used daily by the Design for Security (DfS) team to manage their consulting work on the development projects at the Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
With this tool, GMP can register all projects and analyze the evolution and registration of all crimes in the areas impacted by the project. But, above all, the greater benefit of ProMIS is the integration of all the information in a single place, allowing the analysis and measurement of the data in real-time.
This tool captures and qualifies multiple characteristics of DfS projects:
- Building types, uses and densities
- Geolocation data of the development site, enabling GIS mapping
- The DfS timeline - the stage in the design process when Crime Prevention through Urban Design and Planning (CP-UDP) advice is provided
- Whether the development has achieved Secured By Design accreditation
Real time data analysis
With ProMIS, the GMP team can measure in real time the progress of each of its projects, and compare the progress of crime between its various projects - all while ensuring support for the management of the DfS economic cycle on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Project management
All project management, as well as the tasks associated with each project, are registered and accessed from a single place - the Salesforce tool.
This way, in addition to ensuring visibility across the team, we also guarantee that all management is done according to GMP rules, and that all steps are completed only when all the information and documentation is registered.
With Salesforce, the GMP team gains the ability to generate maps, charts and data tables for use in communicating the work and priorities of DfS CP-UDP
ProMIS also includes visual mapping that showcases the different GMP projects and respective consultants involvement, thus supporting the ongoing management of the DfS service.
