Internal communication in companies

In a company with 6 offices, where you need to work with the person sitting right by your side, as well as with people from a different office, or who is working remotely, internal communication is the key in LOBA.

Internal communication is about sharing information, focusing on the alignment of the speech and practices with the objectives, values and organizational culture

It is through the communication practices and the way they feel in LOBA, that employees   identify themselves with the company’s values and keep aligned and committed to the objectives’ achievement.

Thus, internal communication is crucial in any company and when it is well structured and implemented, it can bring higher efficiency and productivity, as well as promote a solid team spirit and a sense of belonging in the employees.

Why is internal communication so important in the companies? 

Organizational alignment
Internal communication allows the diffusion of the mission, vision and values of the company and clarifies what the company promotes. It helps with the alignment of the team with the strategic goals of the company, guaranteeing that everyone works in the same direction, towards the same objectives.

It is also through a clear communication of the company’s policies and procedures and of what is expected from each employee, that everyone is aware of his role and builds his path, along with the team’s path.

Knowledge management
It allows the transfer of knowledge and the sharing of experience among all employees. Knowledge can be acquired through a more structured communication, as in a training, or in a more natural way, clarifying doubts with a colleague.

This way the employees feel free to share their ideas, suggestions and concerns, not only with the colleagues, but also with their managers.

On the other hand, it is fundamental to show transparency and maintain everyone well informed about all the procedures, news and important company issues.

We have the needed tools to schedule meetings and to easily share and store information and documentation:

- Internal chat 
The internal chat is a tool that saves us a lot of time and makes communication with colleagues much easier, being the main channel for internal communication at LOBA. With this app, we can send messages and instantly call to any person in the company. Furthermore, it allows us to organize communication in an efficient way, using specific groups for different areas, projects or teams. Inside those groups, we share ideas, clarify doubts and organize our daily work

- Internal social network 
We use this platform to share the news, projects, new hirings at LOBA, celebrate anniversaries and discuss relevant topics of the company. It is where anyone can share their ideas. Through our social network we keep connected and updated, result of a transparency culture and engagement of all employees.

- Internal Meetings

-- WE ARE LOBA: 
Every week we stop working for an hour and we connect remotely for the same conversation. It is our general meeting with all Lobatics. During these meetings, we celebrate, we share some news, special moments, general knowledge and some presentations from new and “old” colleagues.

-- TEAM MEETINGS: 
There are weekly team meetings with the objective of optimizing processes, sharing knowledge and informing about relevant events

-- PROJECT MEETINGS: 
Sharing information in project teams allows to keep the project updated, think in solutions and deliver value to the customer

-- WORKING GROUP MEETINGS: 
There are working groups that discuss and focus on specific topics. These meetings are more focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

-- FEEDBACK AND FOLLOW UP MEETINGS: 
In the individual meetings between each Lobatic and his manager we talk about our performance and career and how we can improve and achieve our goals.

Events

On top of our strong digital component, we also need our moments together and in person. We organize quarterly and annual events, to celebrate and interact with colleagues, in a different context from the day-to-day, where we have the opportunity to see other abilities, skills and interests of the colleagues we are with every day, and to meet people from other teams and locations.

At LOBA we know the impact that a good communication has in the company and in each one of us. For us, it is important to feel included, integrated, heard and free to share what we think it is important, with the rest of the team. This is why we have a dedicated and specialized team, that thinks and implements the best communication tools and practices. Communication, transparency, positivity, trust and innovation allow us to continue with a good work environment, where both the company and us are growing. 

Internal communication has been fundamental in LOBA’s and its employees’ success. A clear and effective communication has contributed to a more engaged team, a stronger organizational culture, more accurate decision-making and higher employee motivation.
Knowledge is our greatest asset, whether professionally or personally, and for there to be knowledge, there must be communication, whether written or verbal.
